Here’s the thing. While some purchases leave us set for a season or even an entire year, we are always, always, always looking for new pairs of sneakers. They’re just so versatile, so comfortable and so dang cute. We don’t want to miss out. Sometimes we end up with the newest, just-launched styles, and sometimes we go the retro route — there’s just so much inspiration out there!
Most recently, we let the old-school aesthetic take the forefront position on our shopping list. Why? Well, we have Madison Beer to thank for the idea. The “Selfish” singer posted a mirror selfie dressed up in a USC cheer uniform, reminiscing about “a Saturday game day.” The shoes she was wearing in the photo? A pair of white Converse Chuck Taylors!
Chuck Taylors were originally created as basketball shoes, but their versatility knew no bounds, and they soon became cheerleading favorites as well. Zappos shoppers say they’re great for tennis and weightlifting too. Perhaps their versatility is one of the main reasons these shoes have been in style for so long — and why they have over 3,000 stellar reviews!
Zappos reviewers have left these shoes a vast majority of five-star ratings, commenting that “styles and fads come and go, [but] Chucks are everlasting.” They love the “timeless, clean, smooth style,” and they can trust that these shoes will always be “stylish, comfortable and affordable” They’re “very satisfied” with their purchase — and part of that is because of Zappos’ fast shipping and amazing customer service!
These unisex sneakers have a high-top design and a canvas upper, adorned with the brand’s signature star logo and rubber toe cap. They also feature laces and metal eyelets for a hint of shine and breathability. On the interior is a canvas lining and a padded footbed to keep you comfortable all day long. Down at the bottom you’ll find the rubber outsole, providing grip and durability.
These sneakers are currently available in nine colors. Beer wore the Optical White version, but there’s also a White Monochrome version if you want all-white everything, ditching the blues and reds you’d typically find accenting Converse. Even the logo is totally white! If you’d prefer a little pigment, you can also check out the other versions: Black, Monochrome Black, Charcoal, Maroon, Natural Ivory, Navy and Red. Love more than one? You wouldn’t be the first person to own more than one pair of Chucks, and you definitely won’t be the last!
