Lizzo Details Her ‘Very Lit’ Vegan Diet: Here’s What She Eats in a Day

Lizzo is really embracing her plant-based diet! The “Good as Hell” songstress described herself as a “new vegan,” in a TikTok video shared in June 2020 that detailed everything she eats in a day, and she’s been open about some of her other favorite meals and snacks in a series of TikTok updates since.

Her first video, which she titled “What I Eat in a Day: Tales From a Fat Vegan,” began with a disclaimer from the star. “This is not every day, but this is a pretty average one,” she explained at the time.

In the caption for the clip, the Michigan native revealed she’s getting used to a plant-based eating regimen. “As a new vegan I’m enjoying exploring flavors from plants & plant based proteins!” she wrote. “Every journey is personal & deserves to be celebrated.”

For her first meal of the day at the time, Lizzo blended together a healthy drink. “This is a breakfast smoothie I like to make with coconut water, whatever kale and spinach I have and frozen fruit,” she said as she held a glass with a green beverage in her hand.

As the “Boys” singer shared in a July 2020 TikTok video documenting some additional vegan eats, she also enjoys dairy-free yogurt topped with fresh fruit for breakfast. For lunch, it’s all about “fire” vegan sandwiches and hearty protein balls.

Later that month, the musician switched up her diet just a tad and experimented with raw vegan eats. “I’ve been raw vegan for the last four days and I wanted to show you what I had yesterday because it was so delicious,” she said at the time.

While vegans can’t eat any animals or animal byproducts, such as dairy milk or eggs, raw vegans take things a step further. In fact, those who follow a raw vegan diet typically cannot eat food that has been cooked over 118 degrees. The food should also not be refined, pasteurized, treated with pesticides or otherwise processed in any way.

The Hustlers actress pairs her healthy eats with frequent workouts. As she pointed out in a separate TikTok video from June 2020, she has been going to the gym consistently for five years. “It may come as a surprise to some of y’all, that I’m not working out to have your ideal body type. I’m working out to have my ideal body type,” she declared at the time. “And you know what type that is? None of your f—ing business.”
