Viitorul sets out its position on player transfers and club finances
FC Viitorul issued a statement responding to recent coverage of its transfers and business arrangements. The club said that it paid salaries and tax obligations on time and had not worked with investment funds of the kind suggested in the reports.
On Cristian Manea, Viitorul said it had agreed a transfer with Apollon Football in June 2014, with the player remaining in Romania until turning 18. It said the international transaction had been entered through FIFA’s transfer system and that confidentiality clauses explained why some terms had not been released publicly.
The statement also said Fiorentina held a first option on Ianis Hagi under a 2014 agreement. These details were presented as the club’s account of the arrangements in its response to the media coverage.
